Question:

Seen another question/answer while I was doing a search on my hub. I too was told to use a L68111 and realized it wouldnt fit my hub from my 16foot Karavan galvanized boat trailer thats stamped with U.F.P. H-1377 L268. The trailer manufacturer, Karavan, couldnt match the VIN or model number with the proper bearings they guessed what I might need. Dont have the original parts to reference. From your reply below sounds like I need L68110 couldnt get my dial calipers deep enough in the hub to measure the OD of race surface but estimate it to be ~2.33. The spindle where the seal rides measures ~ 1.741- 1.743inch but I presume it should be 1.750inch if material hadnt rusted away. How are the seals matched up for these dimensions is the springed-o-ring supposed to expand significantly to maintain a tight seal? The 32373 seal they gave me seemed waaayyy too tight on the spindle. Is the # 168233 grease seal ideal for the 1.743inch spindle? The front of the hub measures 1.970inch for the race OD. The L44610 with they told me to use measures 1.980inch but I assume it cant be pressed in with that 10 mil size diff, so I thought I need something different for the front also. Do you know how much tolerance is designed into the race OD relative to the hub for mating a press-fit? Id like to obtain the correct parts from you including a matching hub and possibly an axle. Are there corrosion-proof hubs that match mine and adapt to the spindle with a grease-outlet-hole near the seal?

First, it does sound like, based on the measurement and information you have provided, that race # L68110, is correct since its outer diameter is 2.327 inches. This race is associated with bearing # L68149 which has an inner diameter of 1.378 inches and fits a number 84 spindle.

On these spindles the diameter where the seal goes is 1.73 inches such as # TRU84FR. The seal should be a tight fit. I once had a heck of a time pulling a hub off of a trailer that was held on by the seal only! The inner diameter of the seals that fit this spindle should be 1.719 inches. Seal # 168233 fits specialty number 84 hubs/spindles. It has a smaller inner diameter at 1.688 inches.

Bearing # L44610 is the closest we have to a 1.970 inch space but inside the hub the measurement could be slightly different. The measurement between the race and your measurement is 1 hundredth of an inch or 0.25 millimeters. So it is still very likely that the race will fit especially since any number of factors could affect the measurement being off by 1/100 of an inch.

Since you are entertaining the idea of an axle I would say it is the best option. That way you get standard parts that you know you can find replacements for. I have linked the axles and axleless systems we carry.

For just hubs, though I cannot guarantee fit since we are going only on measurements, it looks like you would need one that takes inner bearing L68149 and outer bearing L44649. I have linked the hubs we carry that take these bearings.
