Question:

Can a Yakima roof top basket quick clamps clamp on to the lock n load platform? If so, is it a direct fit or is something else needed?

Hello Jason. The Yakima LockNLoad Platform has T-slots which can be used for mounting certain accessories, but it will not work with clamp on accessories like a roof basket or cargo box. If you want to be able to use both a Platform and a roof basket, the best option will be to install a roof rack with crossbars, then use a clamp-on LockNLoad Platform like part # Y05044-39. Then when you need to use the cargo basket you can remove the platform and install a basket like the Yakima OffGrid # Y07138-08 on the crossbars.

That or you could simply add a Rail Kit, part # Y05055 to the # Y05044-39 platform. The rail kit makes the platform into more of a basket so you get the best of both worlds.
