Recommended Lift Kit for a 1984 Airstream

Updated 07/26/2024 | Published 07/14/2024

Question:

Hi, I have a 1984 Airstream excella I am wanting to lift. Could you point me into the right direction as far as the correct lift? It is a tandem axle trailer, roughly 33 feet long if that matters. Thank you!

I would be happy to! There are a couple of options to lift your trailer depending on if your axle's sit above or below the leaf springs.

If your axles are already below your leaf springs the only option is the Correct Track Trailer Alignment and Lift Kit item # RR23QX. This kit mounts to your spring hangers and moves the attachment point down 1-1/4" or 2-1/4".

If your springs are below your axles you will want to use one of our axle flip kits. These work by moving your axle below your springs and give you a lift equivalent to your axles thickness.

3" Axle - Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit item # K71-385-00

2-3/8" Axle - Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit item # K71-384-00

I saw you were looking at the Torflex Lift Kit item # K71-724-02. These work with Torsion axles where the suspension is built into the axle itself. If you have one of these I would need you to email me a picture of your axle tag so I can identify your axle. I can't look it up based on your model.

Jarred, I apologize I haven't gotten back to you yet! My airstream is stored at another shop of mine and I haven't had time to run down there to see what type of axle I have. I'm hoping to get down there tonight or this weekend and I will send you a photo. Thanks for the help thus far!
