Hello! Thanks so much for the quick response. How about a combination cable lock for the canoe or kayak? I shudder at the thought of managiny another key! Seeking bright colors also. And laminated cable to prevent scratching. Your advice is much appreciated. In other news, what trailer hitch would you advise for Tiguan 2018? Do I have a body shop install it?

Happy to help! The brightest combination cable lock we have is the Coghlan's Camping Gear Combination Lock item # CG83MV. It's extremely bright and lit up by LED's but the issue is it's only 6' long. You're probably going to need a longer one like the Trimax Combination Cable Lock item # TMX42VR which is not bright at all. It's actually extremely dull but it's functional!
Both of these locks have a vinyl cover to prevent scratches.
The best hitch for a 2018 VW Tiguan is going to be the EcoHitch item # 306-X7393. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your VW with included hardware. It is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver that has a 5,000 lbs towing capacity and a 750 lbs maximum tongue weight.
The reason the Ecohitch item # 306-X7393 is the best hitch for your vehicle is because of the removable receiver and the hidden crossbar. The crossbar is concealed completely behind the rear bumper and the receiver is easily removable when not in use. When you're not towing a trailer or using an accessory you have the ability to not see this hitch at all.
As far as installers go this hitch is somewhat complicated due to the bumper having to be removed but it's a lot easier to install because you don't have to go under your vehicle. If you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C56403 and a ball mount kit item # C45534.
