To replace your FIC 3500 electric jack, I recommend the Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack item # UF38-944017. This jack extends 6" in 25.3 seconds with 1,000 lbs of tongue weight.
It has an easy bolt-on or weld-on installation for A-frame trailers, with the distance between the mounting holes center to center being 3". The zerk fitting on the lower stem assembly allows access to grease the threaded rod which leads to a longer jack life and overall better performance. The dual side lights make it simple to set up your trailer at night and the emergency, ratchet-style crank socket will allow you to operate your jack in the event of a dead battery.
While this jack does have a protective casing, I also recommend getting the Ultra-Fab Protective Cover for Electric A-Frame Jacks item # UF38-944020 as well to help prevent the elements from wearing the lifespan of your jack down prematurely.
