Question:

Hi - Would you kindly advise me which one of your ebike racks work with a Toyora Rav4 - 2011. Its a swing open back door. We have 2 ebikes, one of which is a fat tire - 82lbs and the other is a a folding at 52 pounds. Thank you!

So we may have an issue if your 82lb e-bike weighs that with the battery removed. Our heaviest capacity racks are only capable of carrying bikes up to 80lbs. For your 2011 Toyota RAV4 I recommend the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack # Y88DJ with the Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender # Y02483. This way you will be able to swing the bikes out of the way should you need to access your rear storage area. The bike rack includes a ramp for easier loading and unloading, and is capable of carrying 2 bikes up to 80lbs each. It also allows you to bikes with up to 5" wide tires and fenders. It secures the bikes using wheel straps and a connection to either the seat post, steering head or bike frame.

If you are in need of a receiver I recommend our etrailer # e98864. This has the 2" opening for the bike rack.

Hi Bud, Thank you for the response. The heavy bike is a Ride1Up Rift which the site says is 84.5, but that should be with the battery. I guess we could take the battery out to transport. Would the Yakima you suggested still be the option, or with this information - does it open it up to others? Thank you for your time.

@Zoriana You should always remove the batteries during transport of any e-bike. This is typically shown in the manual as well for any e-bike. As long as the bike is below the 80lb maximum the Yakima bike rack will be my recommendation. I believe all the features this rack offers will make it one of the easiest racks for you with both your e-bikes.
