Curt or Tekonsha 4-Way Trailer Wiring Harness For 2022 Subaru Crosstrek Non-Hybrid

Hello. I have a 2022 subaru crosstrek. Im trying to look at risk/benefit between the tekonsha 118467 and the curt 56040. It seems a lot of the etrailer team suggest tekonsha as they seem to see it last longer. Im wondering about the ground wiring. I dont know much about wiring, so Im unsure how beneficial or risky it is for this tekonsha to not have its own ground wire. Do you have any insight? They seem incredibly comparable, and its difficult pick one. Thank you, Brittany

That is a very good question, and for your 2022 Subaru Crosstrek I would definitely go with the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467.

Tekonsha has proven to be the most reliable over time, and the fact it doesn't have a standalone ground wire while the Curt # C56040 does isn't a factor. The Tekonsha is grounded through the factory harness it connects to in your Crosstrek; Curt decided they preferred a separate wire for the ground but this won't impact the way either harness functions.
