Question:
Hello! We have a 2016 ram rebel and are looking at towing a 2021 wolf pup 17JG. The hitch weight is 430lbs with a gross trailer weight of 4999. Would this hitch system be good for that? Would I need to add some weight to the bed to reach the 600lb minimum for this product? Thanks in advanced.

Hey Lucas,
The Curt MV # C17050 is for total tongue weights between 500 lbs and 600 lbs only (600 lbs isn't actually the minimum), and for a 5,000 lb GVWR camper, the tongue weight is definitely going to exceed what this hitch is capable of. Your tongue weight is going to be in the range of 650 lbs, so instead I'd go with the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA94-00-0800.
This is for 400 lbs - 800 lbs tongue weights so it'll be perfect for your set up. The Fastway also includes sway control, which is not something the Curt hitch has, so the # FA94-00-0800 is a better product as well.
