Will A Gutter Mount Rhino-Rack Roof Rack Support A Rooftop Tent With Two People

Question:

Hello! I purchased: Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Roof Rack Crossbar - Black - 59inch Long Rhino-Rack Roof Rack Legs - Gutter Mount - 8-1/4inch Tall I have a Jeep Wrangler SkyOne Touch top... Automatic top/convertible. Can this crossbar set up hold a rooftop tent for 2 people? Is there a weight limit? Thank you!

Hey Ashley,

In the past Thule has stated that rain gutters were strong enough to support a rooftop tent so you'd likely be fine with the Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Roof Rack Crossbar # RB1500B and Rhino-Rack Roof Rack Legs # RL210S2, but would still want to verify the weight capacity of the gutters in your Jeep's owner's manual. The roof rack components are typically going to be rated well over the necessary capacity but the roof isn't always as high capacity so the ability to use your accessories falls back on the vehicle's weight capacity.
