Question:
I purchased a 2024 Winnebago 1800bh with a GVWR 5500 lbs. Will be towing with a 2014 F150. My confusion is what the proper weight distribution configuration. Some say tongue weight 600-800, with a Gross tráiler weight of up to 8,000. Some say tongue weight 800-1200, with a Gross tráiler weight of up to 12,000. Many different configurations. Is more capacity better or worst? Do I need something closer to what the trailer is? What are the specs recommendations for my trailer? Thank you.

Looking up the information on your 2024 Winnebago Micro Minnie 1800BH I see you have a dry hitch weight of 374lbs as it leaves the factory. As the dealer will fill the propane tanks with 40lbs of propane and add a battery this will give you a hitch weight around 450lbs. I recommend using the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0800 which is rated for a trailer tongue weight of 400-800lbs and up to 8,000lbs. This is the best option as your tongue weight falls into range the hitch is rated for. If you used a hitch rated for a higher capacity then it could cause the hitch to not function properly. Some are the things that become noticeable using a hitch not rated properly is reduced traction and additional sway.
You will need either a 2" # EQ91-00-6080 or 2-5/16" # EQ91-00-6100 to match your trailers coupler.
