Question:

I bought a used 2007 Lance 915 truck camper. When the 7 way connector is plugged in, the marker lights work and the tail lights also turn on. Only the right passenger side brake light comes on. No reverse lights. I opened up the 7 way connector plug and looked at the way it is wired. Currently the previous owner has a white wire for the middle, the yellow, red, green, yellow and brown. When I researched the wiring for the 7 way connector it shows the yellow in the middle and the white as a ground. Is this wired wrong? Is this 7 way connector supposed to have 2 yellow wires? Maybe the 2nd yellow wires replaces the black wire. There is no black wire or blue wire. I dont have electric brakes so that maybe why there is no blue wire.

You really can't trust wire colors on a camper since they don't always match the expected function. In most cases blue is brake output so not seeing one would make sense. As far as the other functions go, the best thing you can do is try and trace the wire back to see what it runs to.

If need be you can rewire the 7-way or add a new connector # PK12706 to match the functions on the 7-way on your truck. Some Lance campers use a proprietary connector so it could also be that they swapped it out for a standard 7-way and mixed up some functions and were unaware.

For the left turn/brake light I would test the vehicle side with a circuit tester like # PTW2993 just to rule that out. On the camper side you can test the wire to see if it is getting power once you know the vehicle connector is working properly. If you have power here I would test behind the light next. If you have power running into the light it could be the light itself in which case I would check the bulb or replace it. I would also double check the ground connection. The only other thing it could be is a short in the wiring somewhere which you would have to locate and repair.

If by reverse lights you're talking about the rear docking lights it could be that they're operated manually with the switch inside. Some models have a switch instead of running with the backup light circuit. There are also fuses in the exterior fuse panel and a circuit in the power distribution center for the docking lights you should check.
