Does Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller Have to Mount a Certain Direction to Function
Published 04/10/2024 >
Question:
My Jeep Cherokee trailer package is such that the Echo is 90 degrees counter clockwise from vertical. Will that make a difference to the controller? Im having trouble adjusting to get smooth breaking. Sometimes the brakes will kick in with extra umph and well jump forward in our seats. And sometimes theres a noticeable lag in release. But then this is my first travel trailer with brakes. Also Ive gotten a message through the app that theres an electrical malfunction when I step on the brakes.

Hey Bob, so the Echo # C51180 is not directional so the way yours is mounted would still allow it to function like it needs to but it does sound like there's something else going on if you are seeing a electrical malfunction error code. You might try removing the controller and seeing if the error goes away to try and start troubleshooting it.
