Question:
The 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer manual says the maximum tongue weight is 100lbs with a conventional trailer hitch. This hitch has a tongue weight rating of 500lbs. I want to mount a bike rack with 2 ebikes which would be well under 500lbs but would greatly exceed 100lbs. Am I limited then by the tongue weight rating of the Trailblazer at 100lbs?

Hey Ken, I was a little surprised to find out that the tongue weight capacity of your 2023 Chevy Trailblazer is only 100 lbs which seems really low for a vehicle of that size. So to explain why the Draw Tite hitch part # DT55GR has a higher capacity than that is the manufacturers of the hitches design a hitch to fit the vehicle and then reinforce it to make it as strong as possible and then independently rate it.
E-bike racks are generally a little heavier but our lightest option is the Thule Easy Fold XT part # TH903202 which weighs 45 lb.
