Question:

I have a 2022, Grand Design 2910BH and am needing to order leaf spring replacements as our current springs have flattened out. I think they were marginal to begin with and our trailer is fully loaded out - not overweight, I’ve had it on a CAT, but very close to the GVWR. I would like to order replacement springs that are slightly stronger than OE, and wet bolts for the connections. Also, would like to install MoRrydes or Sumo Springs while I have everything apart. Do you have a recommendation between MoRrydes and Sumos Springs? Can you provide me with the correct parts / part numbers I will need?

Hey Patrick, so for your leaf spring upgrade I am going to need to know a couple of things before I can get you over to the right part. Specifically, the length from eye to eye, the spring width, leaf thickness, and the number of leaves. From here I can go ahead and look for a possible upgrade, and be sure that it'll fit into place.

For a suspension upgrade kit, we don't have any SumoSprings that will work for you but we do have the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers for Tandem Axle Trailers # RM-2460 which I believe will work for you. This kit is designed to fit 3" diameter tandem axles which I believe you have.

This kit is going to be a great upgrade from what you currently have, providing extra support to reduce bounce, chucking, and porpoising. This kit can also be used in conjunction with the Lippert Road Armor # LC696740 to further improve your ride quality.

Finally, since the Comfort Ride and the Road Armor is only going to work with leaf springs at the top of the axle, you'd need the over under kit # K71-385-00 as well if your springs are not already there.

Hello Bryce, My axles are 3 inch and overslung. Springs are 28 inches long, 1 11/16 or 1 3/4 inches wide. There are four, and they appear to be about 3/8 inches thick.

@PatrickM Hey Patrick, so the overslung kit you can forget about but everything else will work great. For a new leaf spring setup, you're going to want the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles # e97SR based on what you've measured.
