Question:

Hi, I need some help selecting a hanger kit for a single axle 5x8 utility trailer with 3,500 lbs / 2 3/8 diameter axle, 25 1/4 inch Double Eye 4 Leaf Spring 1750 lbs per spring, Spring measures 1 3/4 inches wide. I don’t know if I should get the APS1, APS2, APS3, APS4 or APS5. Can you help me choose the right kit? Thanks

Hi Barney!

Any of the single axle kits you listed will work just fine for your single axle trailer. The main differences between the kits you listed is their height and how they install so I'll list out the differences below and you can decide from there which option is best for your trailer.

- 1-1/2" Front, 7/8" Rear (4-1/4" or 4-1/2" clearance between trailer frame and axle)
- Kit # APS1

- 1-1/2" Front, 1-1/4" Rear (4" or 4-1/2" clearance between trailer frame and axle)
- Kit # APS2 (single bolt to frame for rear hanger)
- Kit # APS3 (two bolts to frame for rear hanger)

- 3-1/4" Front, 1-1/4" Rear (5" or 5-1/2" clearance between trailer frame and axle)
- Kit # APS4 (two bolts to frame for rear hanger)
- Kit # APS5 (weld to frame for rear hanger)
