Recommended Gen-Y Gooseneck Pin Box for a Lippert 1116

Question:

Im looking for the Gen-Y Executive 5th wheel to goose neck coupler for my new trailer. Im not sure which model Lippert fame I have. The tag on the king pin hitch is Item# 20203297721 and the serial# S009668980. Im also not sure whether I should get the 4.5k or 5.5k as when I take 22 of my trailer GVWR, I get 3597lbs which is only 2lbs shy of the 4.5k limit. I need some help to determine the right Gen-Y model to purchase.

Thanks for the information! I just spoke with my rep at Lippert and your 5th wheel trailer has a Lippert 1116 pin box. To replace it you will want the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box item # GY73FR. This pin box has a 5,500 lbs tongue weight capacity, which after doing the math is exactly what you will need.

You will also need the Safety Chain with 2 Hooks for Gen-Y 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box item # GY49GR. These are not included with any of the gooseneck adapters and are legally required.
