Troubleshooting An "Fd" Error Code With A Fogatti Tankless RV Water Heater

Question:

The fogatti insta shower 8 plus there a code last night , fd. What does that mean, I cannot find the code

When the temperature of the water pipe in the water heater is lower than 43°F the controller on your # LSB64FR will display “Fd”. Your unit is going into frost protection mode to avoid getting damaged. If you're not in freezing conditions and this is happening then either the controller or the circuit board for the unit is faulty. For faulty equipment you'd need to reach out to Fogatti for warranty repair/replacement.

I am in temps below 42 degrees and giving the FD and the control panel is turning off. Do I leave the unit on or turn it off until temps rise?

@Cathleen You'll want to drain/winterize and leave the unit off until the temperature rises back up to prevent damage to your unit. It's super easy for the water lines in RV water heaters to freeze and blow out since they vent out from the trailer body and aren't enclosed with insulation.
