Base Plates For 2018 Chevy Equinox With Lower Active Air Shutters

I would like to purchase and install a Roadmaster baseplate and tow our 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. The vehicle has shutters however I have heard the shutters may be modified to permit the Roadmaster successful install. What steps are required. Thank you

I just verified with Roadmaster that their base plates do NOT fit your 2018 Chevy Equinox with lower active air shutters. There are base plates that fit which require the removal of the shutters, from Demco:
- Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit # DM9519332
To do this you will remove the push pins holding the air shutters (it will not be re-installed) and then relocate the temperature sensor. I have added a link below to a video which shows this process, and if you go to about the 10:10 mark you can see it. The video is on a 2022 Equinox but it's exactly the same for your 2018 Equinox.
If you go ahead with the Demco base plate, here are the rest of the parts you'll need to flat tow your '18 Equinox:
