Question:

I am looking for a budget hitch bike rack for a 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid SE which has a Class 1 hitch receiver installed. I currently only need to carry 1 bike, but may potentially need to carry 2 in the near future, so a 2-bike carrier or a 1-bike with add-on capability is preferred. My bike is also on the heavier side 37 lbs. Is # KU64FR a good option, and can you recommend any similarly priced alternatives? Id like a platform style rack, not a hanging rack. Many of the RockyMounts options look great, but according to the product details on their website, they dont seem to make anything for use with a Class 1 hitch.

I think the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 1 Bike # KU64FR you're looking at is a great choice. This hitch has a 60 lb per bike capacity, will work with a class I hitch, and can be upped to a 2-bike rack in the future with the 1 Bike Add-On for Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Racks # KU57FR.

Just so you know, this add on does not have the same capacity as the single bike rack; the add on can only support up to 40 lbs, but with your bike being 37 lbs this'll still work fine.
