Question:
Good morning, etrailer people! My 2021 Ram 2500 has the factory gooseneck. Is this hitch compatible with my gooseneck ball? What is the AN27VR? Do I need one? Im kinda confused...

Good morning, Ron!
The Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System # AN67VR is compatible with your factory gooseneck hitch ball just as it is. The Adapter # AN27VR you're looking at just gives you a better connection than the gooseneck ball. Anderson advertises it as making it a 33% stronger connection. To me that begs the question "why aren't you automatically adding this into your kits already" but I'm not Anderson so I'm not sure.
One thing I DO know though, is that you'll need the Andersen Ultimate Safety Chain Kit # RM3230 so you can legally (and safely!) tow your trailer.
Let me know if you have any other questions! I definitely understand where you're coming from, and I just sent in a note to ask for better clarification.

Hey Ron, how did things go with the Andersen Ultimate Connection on your Ram’s factory gooseneck? Did you end up using the adapter for the stronger connection? Your experience could help others trying to decide between the two setups.
