Determining If The Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge Will Work With Your Boat Trailer
Question:
Im considering Fulton Fold Away 3x4 to give me some clearance for my trailer tongue. I have 9 clearance on the section to install the coupler on. Trailer is model PTS26T-14. I have a photo I can send if necessary. Thanks,

The closer to the coupler you are with the Fulton Fold-Away Coupler Hinge # FHDPB340301 better it can handle the tongue weight of the trailer, but you'll get less clearance with the tongue/coupler in your garage. There are a few other things to check before starting the installation. You'll need to measure the tongue and ensure that it's 3" wide by 4" tall and that the wall thickness is between 0.188" and 0.120" thick.
Once you've confirmed this you can then choose the placement of the coupler hinge on your trailer tongue where you have space, while still keeping in mind the pivot length requirements listed on the chart below. With this change you'll also need to make sure that your hard brake line ends before the hinge and transitions into a soft line to be able to accommodate the bend.
I've attached a short video below where Conner will walk you through the installation process.
