Can Saris SuperClamp HD and SuperClamp EX Bike Racks Be Used for Bikes with Fenders

Why do the QandA answers regarding compatibility with fender bikes differ between the Saris SuperClamp HD Bike Rack and Saris SuperClamp EX Bike Rack. The answers under EX claim it works with fendered bikes. The HD indicates this rack is not a good solution for fendered bikes. Please clarify.

The Saris SuperClamp HD # SAR44VR and SuperClamp EX # SA4025F bike racks aren't compatible with bikes that have fenders because the clamp hooks will damage the fenders. I took a look at our Q&A's and didn't see anything where we said this was okay, but if you can direct me to a specific answer page I'd be more than happy to take a look!
A great alternative to these racks is the Saris Freedom # SA4412B as it has the same weight rating of 60 lbs per bike but it secures the bikes by the frame instead of the wheels, making it perfect for bikes that have fenders.
