Question:
Can I put a trailer hitch on my 2008 hard top convertible Chrysler Sebring? We would be towing.

We do offer two light-duty Class I trailer hitch receivers for the 2008 Sebring hard-top convertible and both can be seen on the link provided. The hitch # 36448 that you referenced is not a fit for your convertible, only for the sedan version of the Sebring.
The correct Draw-Tite hitch is # 24871. I have linked an installation video for your reference as well as the written instructions.
Please note that according to a Chrysler Corporation document I located online not all versions of the Sebring convertible are rated for towing. The 2.7L V6 Touring model and the 3.5L V6 Limited both have a tow rating of 1000-lbs. The LX version with its 2.4L engine is not recommended for towing.
When different components in a system (in this case the vehicle and hitch) have different ratings, then the lowest-rated item determines the overall limit for the combined system. Even though the Class I hitches we offer for your Sebring convertible are rated with a 2000-lb towing capacity, the vehicles capacity becomes your towing limit. If you have one of the tow-rated versions of the Sebring, then your working tow limit is 1000-lbs.
You will also need a ball mount, hitch ball, pin and clip and a wiring harness for your vehicle. You can use
part # 3593, which includes the ball mount, pin and clip. For a wiring harness to connect to your trailer you can use part # 118444 also from Draw-Tite. For a 1-7/8-inch hitch ball you can use # 19256. If you need a 2-inch hitch ball you can use # A-82.
I have linked two articles on towing basics that may be useful to you.
