Will My Factory Brake Controller Be Compatible With An EOH Actuator?

Question:
I have read thru the QandA on this product as it relates to compatibility with the RAM factory brake controller and there seems to be some conflicting answers. So my question is will the factory brake controller on my 2021 RAM Rebel 1500 work with the Hydrastar HBA16 or Dexter DX Series 1600 PSI actuator. Thanks Rick

Generally we have not had problems with the newer Ram factory brake controllers being compatible with EOH systems. Ford and Chevy controllers are much more notorious for having issues. That being said, we cannot say for sure if you will have issues or not. If you need to use an EOH actuator like the Hydrastar # HBA16, you can add on the adapter module # HBA-CAM. In most cases this will resolve the issue and allow things to work normally. If the Adapter module does not resolve the issue, an aftermarket brake controller like the Redarc # RED24FR will be the only option. You also have the option of using a plug and play pigtail # 331-TPH-020 for easy installation. Most aftermarket brake controllers, including Redarc, are made to be compatible with EOH systems.
