Question:

I have a 2020 savana cutaway, trying to find a brake signal wire for a brake controller. The factory harness is not powered unless I disassemble the fuse box under hood, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I can definitely point you in the right direction. These Savana models can be tricky when installing a dash mount brake controller like the Tekonsha P2 # 90885.

If the vehicle has the factory tow package with a 7 way plug, there should be a blue wire for output run under the dash. It would be located near the emergency brake pedal. Some models will have the connection wiring taped and tucked under the driver side floor mat up towards the firewall. Those wires would be labeled which is which, but may not be color coded.

If you do not have a factory trailer connector, you will need to install a 4 pole T harness like # C56496 and also a brake controller install kit # ETBC7. This will be everything you need to wire the vehicle with a 7 way plug, and install a brake controller.

I have a 2018 GMC Savanna , I also have a Tekonsha nrake comtroller. I would like to know where the wiring (factory) is located,I was hoping for a “plug n play” but I can splice. Only need to know where to look!

@DanE Hey Dan the answer here is basically the same as what you saw above. If you Savanna has the factory 7-way, the blue output wire should be located under the dash near the emergency brake pedal. Some models will require a wiring kit to run wire to the battery. This may require drilling a hole in the firewall to run the wire. You may use kit # 5506 which includes 20, 30, and 40 amp breakers. Some models will have the connection wiring taped and tucked under the driver side floor mat up towards the firewall. I wish I had a more concrete answer for you like "your wires are here" but these Savanna vans are tricky. Not as black and white as a lot of other cars.
