Can MORryde StepAbove RV Steps with Strut Assist Use Removable Mounting Plate

Have a 2023 Jayco Eagle 355MBQS with the Morryde 4 step StepAbove system with the strut assist. Can the strut system be removed and the removable mounting plate be installed? If the parts fit it looks to be a simple project. We have a clearance issue with the stair swing where we store the unit house. thank you.

Yes, the MORryde StepAbove RV Steps with Strut Assist like # MR85RR can use the removable mounting plate. It isn't compatible with the struts but you already plan to remove them so that won't be an issue. Assuming you have a 26-28" wide door frame and hinge style 1 (first generation steps) you need the # MR32AR you were looking at. If you have hinge style 2 (second generation steps) then you need the # MR79DR.
I have attached images below showing what the hinge styles look like. You could also identify the generation of your steps by getting the part number off the sticker on the bottom of the steps.
