Question:

Does this rack have a feature that will permit me to open the lift gate of my 2023 Acadia even when bikes are loaded onto it? Does it articulate down to provide for the upward swing of the lift gate? Thank you.

The Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # HR4000 does not have a tilt-away feature to allow for more space between the bikes and the rear hatch of your 2023 GMC Acadia. This rack has a 8" distance from the center of the hitch pin hole of the trailer hitch to the closest part of the rack. Depending on the curvature of the door and how far it sticks out when opening you may have enough clearance to open it without having to remove the bikes.

For a 4-bike rack with a tilt-away feature at the same price point you'd have to switch to a hanging bike rack like the Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # Y02458. If you want to stick with a platform style rack then you'll end up spending a bit more and would need one like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # HR1400Z.
