How Much Tailgate Clearance Does The Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack Provide

Question:
On a 2021 Jeep Wrangler with a hitch extension 12, will the tailgate be able to open if the vertical frame bars are down?

The closest part of the rack to the center of the hitch pin hole is approximately 8" so with a 12" extensions you would have roughly 20" between the hitch pin hole and the closest part of the rack. To check this you can measure out 20" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the tailgate to see if you'll have enough clearance for the Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # HR4000.
I do want to note that hitch extensions do reduce the capacity of the hitch by 50% and will also cause more sag because the weight is forced out further from the trailer hitch.
