Can 6.5K Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar Be Used to Safely Flat Tow a 2023 Chevy Silverado?

Hi There, I have the Blue Ox BX7365 Alpha 6,500lb Tow Bar which I have been using to tow my Wrangler JK just fine. I am now getting a 2023 Silverado which has a GVWR of 7000lbs. if that pushing it for this tow bar or is there margin in the 6500lb. rating?

If you're planning on towing a 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 you'll be able to continue to use your Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar BX7365 as long as you don't load up your truck with any gear. If you're going with the 2500/3500 then you definitely need to get a beefier tow bar so you don't end up in a bad situation on the side of the road.
It sounds like you want to stick with a Blue Ox base plate setup so if that's the case I recommend checking out the etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Blue Ox Base Plates # e67ZR because it's rated for 10,500 lbs (so you won't be even close to overloading it) and it has some adjustability in the head and trigger latches which makes this tow bar very easy to use.
