Question:
What material is this nut made of or treated with? Is this the right nut to use on a galvanized wheel/trailer on a boat. Trailer?

Discontinued trailer wheel lug nut X1023R is your average everyday steel lug nut. Not the best option for a marine environment on your boat trailer. I recommend the zinc plated lug nut # CE11051. The zinc plating is going to be much more corrosion resistant than steel.
