What is the difference, other than length, between the tow-rax low profile L-track and the tow-rax tapered L-track?

There really isn't a profile difference between the tapered style of Tow Rax L-Track like the part # TWSP12TAB and the low profile # TWSP72TA. The low profile does sit a little taller at 1/2 inch tall whereas the tapered is 7/16 inch. That's a difference of 1/16 of an inch though so it's really pretty miniscule.
