Is There An Anti Rattle Device Designed To Limit Front To Back Movement At The Hitch?

Question:
I had a BX88224 Immobilzer on my 2006 HD2500 Silverado for towing a 11,000 lb travel trailer with a ReCurve R6 Weight Distribution Trailer Hitch. While the immobilizer prevented movement up/down and side-to-side, it did not prevent movement fore and aft resulting in the hitch pin elongating the holes in the receiver. I tried retightening the nuts on the immobilizer multiple times eventually bending the plates. The hitch pin eventually displaced so much metal to the inside of the receiver that the hitch became difficult to remove and reinstall. Other hitches were impossible to install. This basically destroyed the factory receiver. When I reported this to the ReCurve manufacturer, they kindly reimbursed me for the purchase of an aftermarket receiver. I hadnt towed the trailer enough to see if the same issue happened again. I now have a 2022 Ford F250 with a 2 1/2inch receiver. My question is: Is there a device that will prevent fore/aft movement as well as up/down and side-to-side? Thank you for your time and consideration.

We do have other anti rattle devices that we carry, but nothing specifically designed to limit fore/aft movement. If you have already tried The Blue Ox immobilizer # BX88312, I'm afraid I do not have a more effective anti rattle device that I can offer you. The immobilizer is pretty much the best of the best. That is the one we go to when all else fails typically. We do have the Gen-Y Anti rattle clamp # GY28XR which I have seen good results with. I do not see this working better than the Blue Ox though.
Excessive front/back movement is a bit concerning, and could be caused by insufficient braking power. If you have not already, I would definitely inspect your brakes and make sure everything is in good working order. Or possibly look at upgrading to disc brakes if possible.
