How to Determine the Correct Replacement Hub for an Old Jetski Trailer
Updated 04/09/2024 | Published 03/07/2014 >
Question:
I have a twin jetski trailer, single axle, and want to put a new hub assembly on the right side. The hub assembly is very old 95, and has an odd sized opening as opposed to the left that takes a 1.98 bearing buddy. How do I measure the spindle and bolt pattern to know which hub assembly to buy? I have a measuring tape and dial caliper. Thanks!

Helpful Expert Reply:
The best way to determine the correct replacement hub is to go by the bearing numbers stamped into the inner and outer bearings. With those numbers and the wheel bolt pattern I can determine exactly what you will need. (I have linked a how-to article that explains how to measure bolt pattern.)
If you want to measure the spindle then use the dial calipers because the measurements have to be as accurate as possible. Please refer to the picture I have included that shows where to measure the spindle. With those measurements I can most likely determine the correct replacements for you.

Hi I'm also having trouble finding a set of hubs for a jetski trailer. My spindle is 1-16" and 3-1/2" long. Every hub I've tried is too long to allow the threads to stick out far enough for the castle nut.
