Brake Controller For 2021 Chevy Tahoe With Factory Tow Package & Brake Controller

Question:
Hello, Im picking up a used 2021 Chevy Tahoe WITH the factory tow package installed. I've heard from a few friends with new Chevy Trucks that the factory brake controller system is a pain and with throw error codes and blow fuses. Is it possible to easily bypass the factory controller and install an aftermarket unit? I just got rid of a 2019 Tahoe that didn't have the factory controller. I installed a RedArc Tow Pro Elite in that truck and it was as simple as wiring up the Tahoe Harness that corresponded with the RedArc and plugging it into an empty spot on the little wiring box under the dash. It that where the factory controler plugs in? Wondering if its as simple as unplugging that and plugging in the aftermarket harness. Im also assuming I will lose some functionality of the Chevy Towing App? Do you know if adding an aftermarket controller pretty much eliminates that functionality? Honestly I'm not sure what the App does but I've towed plenty without any kind of computer assistance so to me having a reliable brake controller is much more important Thank you

I checked with Redarc and they do not have a plug-in harness option for a 2021 Chevy Tahoe, their fits stop at 2020. The only brake controller that will bypass your current factory brake controller without issue is the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180.
You'll just plug this into your Tahoe's 7-way and it will override your OEM brake controller.
