Why Does Pop And Lock Harness PL34FR Have So Many Red Connectors?

Question:
The Plug and Play T-Harnessinch I got has 5 connectors instead of two as the installation instructions shows See images. I am trying to install PL8547TAC on my 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road. Why do I have 5 connectors instead of two. If this is the correct T harness, how do I install this correctly?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yep you have the right harness, just the Pop and Lock harness # PL34FR has been updated allowing it to work with multiple years of the Toyota Tacoma which has added a few more connectors.
You'll use the purple and grey wires if installing on the passenger side of your 2020 Toyota Tacoma, or the green and blue wires if installing on the driver side of your truck which I've shown in a diagram.

Hello Samuel C. I have a 2023 Tacoma TRD PRO model. If I was to install the Pop N Lock you have pictured and run the wiring to drivers side door kick panel is it possible to connect the blue and green wires to other colored wiring like the grey or purple to get the unlock feature on two presses of key fob rather than One press of button? Just looking to have tailgate unlock on second press of button to save on usage and possible prolong the life of the unit. Thank you Sir!
