whats the difference between double pivot and 360 cushion with 5th wheel hitch

Some of those terms are phrases marketing teams decided to emphasize to how the head of the hitch is allowed to move to help with ride quality and ease of connection/disconnection. B and W calls this "double pivot" which essentially means it can pivot forward and back as well as side to side like with their Companion hitch part # BWRVK3500.

Curt calls this 360 cushion which essentially means the same thing like with their Curt PowerRide part # C22ER.

Both of these hitches have cushioning built into the head and can pivot in the same directions.
