Why Wont My Lippert Tread Lite Steps Stay Extended?

Question:
my Lippert tred lite power step 2 step 24inch width will open and close but can be moved by hand does not lock in place. what needs to be replaced. also the step led light does not work. Can it be replaced.

What it sounds like happened is the brake solenoid on your steps stopped working correctly. There is a manual lever on the motor that can get flipped off which will then allow your steps # LC353542 to not stay extended.
I have attached a photo of the lever you're going to need to check showing both the "ON" and "OFF" position for you to see.
If it is in the "ON" position then you just have a bad solenoid and will need to replace it.
For the light, if after switching your solenoid out does not fix it, you may need to contact Lippert to see if there is a replacement they can send you as we do not carry it.
