Question:
Will not extend or retract when door is open and closed sounds like it wants to but motor only runs for a split second if I turn brake lever on motor to off position steps will extend and retract as normal how do I check to see if controller is bad or the brake on the motor is bad what is the voltage on the brake

I spoke to my contact at Lippert and they informed me that you need to check that you are getting 1.5 to 3 amps coming from the control module. If you are, then test the brake by adding power and ground to the brake leads. (polarity doesn’t matter). I’m suspecting that the brake is bad and not releasing or the brake pad is seized to the pressure plate.
I have attached a wiring diagram for you. Please let me know what you come back with and the part number of your steps if replacement parts are needed.
