Question:
When installing a blue ox swaypro they recommend starting at the ninth link from the bar. What is the minimum number of links you can use?

There isn't a specified number for minimum links that can be used with the Blue Ox SwayPro part # BXW1000 that you referenced. As long as you are within the tongue weight range of the system (750-1,000) it will be close to around 9 links as that's average number that works.
