Troubleshooting Furrion Thermostat Temperature Reading FACW12SA-BL

Updated 06/20/2024 | Published 06/06/2021

Question:

We purchased this thermostat with the Furrion unit 13.5 and the unit cools great but the thermostat doesnt read the correct temperature in the camper. It will say 69 degrees when the room temp is 73. Not sure what is going on with it or how to fix it.

Expert Reply:

Regarding your Furrion FACW12SA-BL (DISCONTINUED) wall thermostat, this is a common observation, as the temperature sensor is in the ceiling with the air distribution box. When using the air conditioner, leave the fan on at least low to keep your interior air being drawn into the box and being measured by the temperature sensor in there. This will help the thermostat to display the true temperature, and to cycle the compressor on and off as needed more accurately.

Always have to turn fan on to get temperature to onto then I can switch over to cool to run? It’s a 13.5kw Furrion and brand new

@JamesonC the thermostat shows it’s 63 but temp inside is actually 75, to get air to work I have to put on fan to run to have sensor get to correct temp reading. Then switch over to cool to get cool to run. This is a brand new Furrion 13.5 on our 5th wheel why not doing this

@LowellL Yeah that is super annoying but its actually pretty common for RV AC units like Atwood that has an internal fan that has to stay on all the time to get an accurate rating. Basically the automatic setting won't get used unfortunately.
