Question:

Would installing the C88VV trailer hitch for the 2021 Lexus UX250h impede the hands-free power-liftgate sensor under the vehicle?

The hands free liftgate compatibility is one of the most popular questions we get asked about trailer hitches. Unfortunately, no matter which hitch you go with like the Curt Class 3 Hitch # C88VV which is a great option, there is going to be some interference as the cross tube mounts right where the sensor points. That said, it doesn't mean the sensors won't work at all, it just means they are going to be a bit more finicky and harder to pickup. There really isn't a way around this though and for most people, giving up some ease of use is worth the benefit a trailer hitch offers.

My Lexus 2020 UX 250h is the premium package, not the tow package. That said, I was told by Lexus that installing a trailer hitch like the Curt Class 3 C88VV is not possible. Is that a true statement? I need a hitch to transport my bike and am hoping you will assure me that the Curt Class 3 C88VV can actually be installed on my car.

@Laura It sounds like the dealer is trying to trick you into buying the factory receiver for your 2020 Lexus UX 250h. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C88VV is going to fit your Lexus without issue. With this you will be able to use a Bike Rack # BA22B. If you think you will ever need to pull a small trailer I would install the 4-Way # C23VV when you install the receiver.
