Are the Torque Specs Listed in the Instruction Manual Correct

Question:

Hi, I bought a Advent A/C unit from you, model ACM135C. On page 8 of the installation guide, sent to me , and on your website, it says to torque the 4 bolts holding the unit on the roof to 40-50 INCH pounds. Since 40-50 INCH pounds is only 3-5 foot pounds, this seems highly insufficient. Is 40-50 INCH pounds correct? Thank you.

Yes, the installation instructions that came with your Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System # ACM135C are correct. You tighten the bolts to 40-50 inch pounds. This compresses the gasket to approximately 1/2". Since the bolts are self locking, overtightening of the bolts is not needed.
