Question:
Greetings. We purchased a 2023 Outback Limited XT and need to install a Class IV hitch receiver and 7-pin wiring harness to pull our CampInn tear trailer. The trailer includes an on-board Autowbrake electric brake controller. The Outback does not include the 4-pin harness. What are your recommendations to equip our new Outback so we can pull our trailer? Thanks everyone.

For a hitch that fits your 2023 Subaru Outback Limited XT I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e25TR. I know you asked for a Class IV hitch, but that is not necessary. This Class III hitch has a max towing capacity of 3,500 lbs, which is the most the Limited XT trim can tow. It is also more than enough to handle the Camp-Inn trailer that maxes out at 1,430 lbs for the largest model.
For the wiring, you will need to start by adding a 4-way with the # C56040. This plugs into the connection in the rear cargo area. Once this is installed, you can upgrade to a 7-way using the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L. This kit comes with the adapter, wiring, and everything else needed to get you setup to use a brake controller like the Autowbrake # 3430001.
In order to complete your setup you will also need a ball mount. Check out the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit has two ball mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. It also comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, as well as a ball mount bag to store everything in.
I have attached some installation videos below for your reference.
