Question:
I have a 2021 Ford F-150 Lariat with a 5.5foot bed and the FX4 and Trailer Tow packages and am planning to use the Blue Ox SwayPro to connect a Lance 2255 travel trailer. For this combo should I get the 7- or 9-hole shank?

Hey Gino, you'll want to take a couple measurements to determine what shank you'd need from a Blue Ox Swaypro to allow your trailer to be towed level. You'll want to measure from the top of your hitch opening on your vehicle down to the ground compared to the distance from the bottom lip of your coupler to the ground. The difference in these two dimensions is the amount of drop you need. The part # BLU66FR will give you up to 5 inches of drop and the # BXW1000 can do up to 2 inches of drop.
Most likely you'll want the # BLU66FR but it would be worth measuring to be sure. How does the trailer tow now without a WD system?

I have not yet bought the trailer so don't have exact numbers for it and have not towed it yet. the bottom of the hitch receiver on my truck is 18" from the ground. I'll measure the coupler when I go to the RV lot, but am I to understand that if it is anything higher than 20" then I will need # BLU66FR (9-hole/5" drop)?
