Question:
What is the best prodigy brake controller for my truck and is there anything I should know about computer flash or special harness. I pull an 11000 5th wheel. Factory controller sucks and dodge wont do anything about it. Want to buy one soon. Thanks.

The Prodigy brake controller that I would recommend is the P3 Brake Controller, # 90195. This brake controller has an LCD display that will display actual issues rather than codes if an issue were to arise. You can also use the Plug-In Wiring Adapter, # 3021-P, to make installation easier.
Your truck will have a brake controller harness under the dash near the steering column. The factory brake controller will be connected to that plug. If you disconnect the factory brake controller, a warning lamp on the dash will turn on. Before disconnecting the factory brake controller, In order to disconnect the ITBM and not get the warning lamp, your local Dodge dealer will have to reconfigure the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module), of the truck. Once the TIPM has been reconfigured, and the ITBM has been unplugged, you can use the plug-in harness, # 3021-P, to install the P3 brake control.
To disconnect the ITBM, you will need to contact Business Center to remove the sales code (XHC). The TIPM will need to be reconfigured. Once the sales code has been disabled you can disconnect the ITBM electrical connector, under the dash, without getting the warning lamp.
I have attached the technical bulletin referring to this process for you to check out.
