Question:
I own a 2011 Ram 2500 with a factory ITBC. Its performance is unsatisfactory, and I would like to replace it with a Prodigy P2. The existing ITBC has two sets of plugs/wires see photo. Does the 3021-P harness connect to one of these plugs, and what then needs to be done with the other plug? Thanks for your assistance. Technical Bulletin TB10-12

In order to replace your OEM brake controller with the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 while using Tekonsha Adapter # 3021-P, there are a couple of steps that are required. The picture that you sent of the two plugs are your factory brake controller connections. Your aftermarket Tekonsha brake controller will use one of these plugs and the other plug will need to be disconnected through your Dodge dealer.
To disconnect your ITBM and not get the warning lamp your local Dodge dealer will need to reconfigure the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module), of your 2011 Dodge Ram 2500. Once the TIPM has been reconfigured, and the ITBM has been unplugged, you can use the vehicle specific brake control harness # 3021-P.
To disconnect the ITBM, you will need to contact the Dodge Business Center to remove the sales code (XHC). Once the code has been removed, your truck will not look for the brake controller and therefore not send the signal.
The 3021-P harness, which has a 4 pin connector will attach to the 4 pin connector located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency bake pedal. In the attached picture I have the location noted with an arrow.
The other connector will plug directly into your Prodigy P2 # 90885.
After you have the ITBM disconnected through Dodge, you will not plug anything into that port.
I have attached both the adapter harness and also the P2 installation instructions for your reference.
I have also attached two FAQ articles covering brake controller installations on Dodge Ram trucks. The second article covers technical bulletin TB10-12.
