How is DEKA Isolator part # DW08770 Wired

Question:
Couldn’t you just run another hot terminal cable to your main battery and over to the isolator bat 1 and another from bat 2 on isolator to positive on 2nd battery and bypass the alt on the isolator?

What you are describing sounds like how the DEKA isolator part # DW08770 is designed to be wired. If you check out the attached diagram you can see what I mean.
