Yakima LockNLoad Platform Rack Fitment on a 2021 GMC Yukon with OEM Crossbars

Question:
Hi, I have two questions: 1 does the yakima lock n load platform rack come WITH crossbar clamps for pre-existing roof cross bars? 2 does the weight capacity of my rack increase if I add an additional cross-bar? I have a 2021 Yukon so I have the space. Thank you!

I'm happy to help you out! I'll answer your questions in order:
1. Yes, the Yakima LockNLoad Platform Rack for Crossbars # Y45UV comes with universal crossbar clamps (see photo for example) that fit a variety of crossbar styles including the OEM bars on your 2021 GMC Yukon.
2. According to Yakima the LockNLoad can safely handle 165 lbs - 330 lbs depending on the setup, but since your OEM roof rack is only rated for 165 lbs that's what you'll want to abide by. You're more than welcome to add more crossbars but I doubt GM will say that increases the weight capacity of the roof rack - I know this is the case with the aftermarket crossbars.
