Service Stability Control Error Message After Demco Air Force One Install on 2.0 Turbo Jeep Cherokee
Updated 03/01/2023 | Published 02/28/2023 >
Question:
Installed a Demco Air Force One into a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk with the 2.0l turbo engine. Installed the vacuum line as instructed it’s a different vacuum line than the V6 engines and now 1 Start/Stop function does not work, and 2 Electronic Stability Control does not work. Jeep dealer could not figure out where to cut into the vacuum line but cautioned against it since brakes have an electrical component to them. RV dealers haven’t installed on the 2.0 turbo so they don’t seem to know anything about this install problem. Is the vacuum in the correct spot? Any ideas on how to fix the issue? Thanks

Expert Reply:
Yes, you do have the correct vacuum line hooked up to the Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System part # SM99243 on your 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk with 2.0L Turbo Engine. The start/stop malfunction and stability control error code is likely caused by a leak which means there is air escaping around one of the fittings/hoses. The leak can sometime be found using a soapy water solution and looking for bubbles. If you have ensured there are no leaks, try resetting the codes and see if they come back. In certain cases, the codes won't go away on their own and need to be reset.
