Do I Need a Washer with Castle Nut to Install Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles

Question:
Can you confirm the Dexter hub 8-91-05UC1 does not require a washer between the castle nut and outer bearing? My trailer didn’t have a washer on either hub. I contacted Dexter and they said that hub doesn’t require a washer and none of the hubs that size come with a washer. The etrailer video mentions that a washer is needed so I was curious which was correct. Thank you

Personally, I would install the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles # 8-91-05UC1 and add the Washer # SW1000, Spindle Nut # 165686, and Cotter Pin # 165649 as that's how we usually install them here at etrailer and it makes sense to me to have that smooth surface between the castle nut and bearing.
If you spoke with Dexter directly and they said that the washer isn't needed then you should be just fine without it, I just feel like it will keep everything running a bit more smooth if a washer is used.
Attached are some videos for you to check out as well.
